Welcome to Baan Denmark
This page is new, but Baan Denmark is not. Since 2010, we have been building and experimenting here in Thailand. Our goal is simple: to make the most of what we have and share our successes with you.
Note: Menu items without a lock or marked with 🔓 are partially free (some content is visible, but technical settings require a subscription).
Today, we produce our own drinking water and run our own solar power system. We pay 0 baht for water and only 26 baht a month for electricity—which is just the basic fee for the meter!
Proof of my 26 baht electricity bill:

But with the setup you find here on the page, we have reduced our electricity bill from just over 1650 baht to 26 baht per month.
Technical Note: You might notice I used 4 units in January. This wasn’t due to lack of sun, but because I was testing a new Tuya smart device to manage the power transfer from the PEA grid. Once the test was complete, I went back to 0 units for the following months!
Ready to see how I did it?
